Levels are a way to show how many times you have used a ghost, though the levels are never explained or used effectively in the game (Table below).
The meaning of each level most likely shows the extent of their power and experience in haunting and scaring mortals through the use of them in levels. I.E. Wild would show that the ghost is rather inexperienced and clumsy in their overall performance, as they haven't been used a great deal or at all. Whilst Berserk would show that the ghost is powerful and triumphant over mortals through the use of them in levels.
Effects of levels
Higher level ghosts have more capacity to take orders than low level ghosts. For example, while a 'wild' ghost can only be ordered to only use the power at their current power band, a 'housebroken' ghost can accept up to three orders at once, which can include more complex commands like picking on specific mortals, only activating their powers when mortals are present, or not using a particular power.
Types of levels
Each form of ghost (Sprites, Horror etc.) has it's own set of levels which take a different amount of uses to achieve.
